This Privacy Policy explains how this website — the personal portfolio of Elizaveta Volkova (“I”, “me”) — collects and uses information when you visit ellivolko.com (English) or ru.ellivolko.com (Russian).
1. Who is responsible
This site is operated by Elizaveta Volkova, an independent brand & communications strategist. For any question about your data or this policy, contact ellivolko@gmail.com.
2. What data is collected
I don’t ask you to register or submit personal details. When you visit, analytics tools automatically collect technical and usage data, which may include:
- IP address (truncated or anonymised where supported);
- device, browser, operating system and screen settings;
- pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth and the referring source;
- clicks on links and buttons (for example, the “Get in touch” button);
- approximate location (country/city, derived from your IP);
- on the Russian version only — anonymous session recordings (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) via Yandex Metrica Webvisor, plus click and scroll heatmaps.
If you email me directly, I process your email address and message only to reply to you.
3. Analytics tools
ellivolko.com (English) uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC). It sets cookies to measure traffic and how the site is used. Data may be processed on Google servers outside your country, including the United States, under Google’s contractual safeguards.
ellivolko.com also uses Umami (umami.is) — a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data; it counts visits anonymously.
ru.ellivolko.com (Russian) uses Yandex Metrica (Yandex LLC), counter № 109841446. Data is stored on servers located in the Russian Federation. The Russian version uses Webvisor (anonymous session replay) and click maps to understand usage.
The two versions are independent: Google Analytics runs only on the English site, and Yandex Metrica only on the Russian site.
4. Why this data is used (legal basis)
This data is used only to understand how the site is used and to improve it. The legal basis is your consent and/or my legitimate interest in operating and improving the site. It is not used for advertising or marketing profiling, and it is never sold to third parties.
5. Cookies
These tools set cookies in your browser:
- Google Analytics: _ga, _ga_* — used to distinguish visitors; expire up to ~13 months;
- Yandex Metrica: _ym_uid, _ym_d, _ym_isad and similar — used to recognise sessions.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the official add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and disable Yandex Metrica tracking in your browser or Yandex settings.
6. Sharing
Your data is processed by Google and Yandex acting as my analytics providers. I do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
7. Retention
Aggregated analytics data is retained according to each provider’s settings (Google Analytics: up to 14 months; Yandex Metrica: per the counter settings). Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, or Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data” in Russia — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email ellivolko@gmail.com.
9. International transfers
If you visit the English site from the EU/EEA, data processed by Google Analytics may be transferred outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
